Young Goodman Brown
This was my favorite story out of the three we read.It had many key components that lead up to the reveal of everything. It was intresting that his wife name was Faith, because some of the character took it as the faith we have for god instead of it being a name. It was weird that the devil took on his appearance . I feel he tricked into continuing down the path. It was really a good story and very well written.
The Black Veil
The Black Veil was a very intresting story. I though it was different that the minister punished himself by wearing a black veil(why did he choose that) for the rest of his life. He could have just repented and moved on with his life instead of letting the veil remind him of what he did everyday of his life. Everyone makes mistakes in life but you cant keep allowing them to control your life. You make mistakes and learn from them. They help you become a better person and give you the experience in life that make you wiser and able to teach others. As the minister in the story he should have been a good example, yes he did make a mistake that he thought was bad but he forgave himself and because of that god forgave him to.

Black Cat
Was a very different short story from the usual.I really dont like weird and inhumane stoties, but this one really intrested me.I wanted for a long time to become a psychologist so i tired to understand his point of view and judge. Most people would assume black cats are bad for luck, so the fact that he was intriged with this cat shows his difference from society.I believe he had an alternatitive life inside his mind. So this story creeped me out but some people would really enjoy his sinister out look on life.

Huckleberry Finn
Huck Fenn really to me focus on the aspect of how to determine whats morally right and whats morally wrong. In the book Huck Finn grows up in the south during the era of slavery and pre-civil war. He is a really bright young boy who precieves the world in a unique way. His father is unstabled and Huck Finn really doesnt like him. So he decides one day to run away to an island right og the coast, which he does successful. Hes fathers dies and he lives on the island. One day he discovers Jim a slave for one of his fellow community member. They decidet to stick together and try to make it to the North. Along the way they face many tials and tribulations including them trying to figure out the morality of their situations. Its just a big adventure for an unlikely pair of people from very different worlds.
Sicko The Movie
Wow this movie was really eye opening to watch. I always thought that if you had health care you were really blessed, because many people dont. I never knew that in order to recieve your rightfully owed healthcare you would have to pass so many trials. It seems like insurance companies try to do everything to prove you dont necessarly need the money your asking for ,but still want to take your money. What happen to America the land of the free and each citizens will be treated with respect? Why does it seems like the world revovles around how much money you can make by taking from hard working citizens? Now even with healthcare you still are treated as if you dont have it. I really hope that Obama and the future presidents improve this situation and make it fair and honest for all. Its really sad to watch someone you love suffer and die because you thought you were secured with healthcare but turns out you were wrong. How can they be so insensitive to the lives lost that were denied payment ,and the companies knowing they needed the operation, but are to cheap and shelfish to finance it. I really hope that this cycle will end and healthcare will approve and become avaliable to all the citizens in america!

Campagain Commercial
Johnny Isakson whos running for georgia state senate was more focused on explaing what he could help do when elected in the state senate, which is really good that he built him self up rather than tear other people down. He used the rhetoric form of logos when referring to how many years he has been in some form of politics which conveys the listener to belive he knows what hes doing. He used ethos to reach the unemployed people by first stating he will try to improve the job market and find work for those who need it.
He used repetiton because he kept repeating his name and refering to himself to be in the senate.

Rhetoric(Drake sprite commercial)
Drake sprite commercial is persasive. It includes logos because when you drink something it refreshes you and your not thirsty anymore. It includes pathos because people like music and love drake. It includes ethos because drakes promoting the the sptite product and people tend to trust the celebrates like drake. It implies that drinking sprite helps you focus and improves your mood.

Walden
Walden was about a man who lives in the forest to have personal time to think about the problems in society. I currently am taking sociology which is the study of groups. Sometimes people feel society judges to much and categorize people in certian groups because of who they are as a person. So im guessing he decided to isolate him self from society so he can think of his own concepts of society. In the book he explains that poverty may not be all that bad. In life society makes being poor a horrible thing. They pass judgement and look down on the less fortunate people. He states that "money is not required to buy one nescessary of the soul." So just because your not rich doesnt mean you should value life any less but you should value it even more.

Incident (poem)
I feel this poem symbolizes how people can remember the bad situatuions over the good ones. How we allow the bad situations to shape are experiences when we go to different places. It also shows how black people no matter what age were treated by the white people and it affected their life each and everday. I can relate this to something Martin luther king fought for to end. But in a weird way we have adapted it to a slang for everday culture. The way it used to be used back in the day has totally changed to the way we use it in modern times.

The Crucible
This movie was really corupted and just sad. Its sad to see how low people can go to cover themselves up when they do something totally wrong and was told not to. I guess some people really dont care. I felt bad for all the innocent people that died for someone elses lies. I dont undersand why they had to kill them god forgives. I really respect the people like John who stood up fpr what they believed and stood up for the truth!
A Rose for Emily
A Rose for Emily was really weird to me. How can someone be isolated away from everyone because their rich. Usually the rich people are very social and know most of the town. Even thou her dad was over protective she still could have found a way to do something like getting involved in an activity. I also believe that the neighbors should have been more friendly and not as judgemental because everone has their own problems. They just should have got to know her and in a way they turned her into who she was because society can definitley do that to a person!
Pushing the Bear
This book was really good and informative on how the native americans felt. Gives the reader a point of view through the Native American eyes. I really think that what the native americans went threw was very awful. Native americans lost their homes and belongings that were passed down generation to generation. I just wish that things had happened differently so that the Native Americans didnt have to suffer!
